Yes, this is a Last.FM exclusive blog...no more copying and pasting from Myspace...oh no.
Anyway, it's been an interesting week for my Musical listen-age....Tenacious D knocked off top spot...that's a weird occurance, oh yes.
And what knocked them off....The Ramones.
Now would that have anything to do with the fact I've just presented (rather badly, but lets not go into THAT) a RAMONES show on my Uni radio station?
Yes....that's the EXACT reason why...no need to ask.
Other things that have tickled my musical fancies this week: CAKE.
Best known for being "That band that did that song from "Me Myself and Irene"", Cake aren't really best known or known at all, but I like them.
I DID used to picture the lead singer as being Spike from Buffy for whatever reason....his style reminded me of that, but in reality he's NOTHING like him so don't let that put you off....
They also did a great cover of "I Will Survive" which is so unique it's brilliant, and another cover of "War Pigs" which I'm still searching for, so if anyone has do let me know.
But random covers are something else I'm becoming obsessed by. Rock bands tooling up the background music from Sonic the Hedgehog? Rock Versions of Elvis' Burning Love? Mamma Mia?...my playlist is exploding with them.
I should utilise this randomness in someway...
